Gili Trawangan, the farthest offshore, is also the largest, covering 3.5 square kilometres. The young, mostly European holidaymakers who come to Trawangan or the other Gilis pass their days tanning on the beach. Snorkel diving and Frisbee tossing ore the favoured daylight sports. Many places have masks, schnorkels and fins for rent. The reefs off the east coast of Trawangan are decent, but be careful about swimming out too far as the currents can get quite strong when the tides change. A walk around the island takes no more than about four hrs.
